Park(ing) Day 2019: Pavement to Pedestrian

Park(ing) Day 2019: Pavement to Pedestrian

DLP is proud to partner with landscape architecture firm Carman on an installation for this year’s PARK(ing) Day. Approximately six to eight on-street parking spaces will be turned into parklettes as part of the global event that brings attention to alternative uses of public space. Come visit us on Short St. between Broadway and Limestone to sit for a bit, tell us your ideas for making the area better, have lunch or coffee, or even play a giant board game or two. Parking Day will run from 12:30 p.m. through Friday evening’s gallery hop until 10:00 p.m. We hope you can join us to check out this year’s installations.

Event Info From KY Chapter of American Society of Landscape Architects

The mission of PARK(ing) Day is to call attention to the need for more urban open space, to generate critical debate around how public space is created and allocated, and to improve the quality of urban human habitat.
