Downtown Lexington is known for its extensive list of restaurants and bars. However, live music is taking over the night life. If you are looking to add to your classic date night or looking for something new to do downtown, check out these 13 locations that offer music of all genres.  Take your next night out to the next level at any of these locations to ensure a night filled with laughs and dancing!

The Burl:

Located in the historic Distillery District, The Burl is known for its trendy aesthetic providing music of all genres with both locally and nationally known artists and bands. Stop on in Thursday through Saturday to enjoy live music and one of their classic drinks. Don’t forget to check out the Arcade which takes you back to 1989 and is filled with classic and timeless arcade games. Between the drinks, games, and live music your night cannot go wrong!

Manchester Music Hall:

Get ready for a night you will not forget! Manchester Music Hall has something for everyone, with regional and national artists and performances of all kind! Whether you love country or pop Manchester has something for you.  Located in the heart of Lexington’s Distillery District, the atmosphere and ambiance is unlike any other!

Parlay Social:

“Eat, Drink, and be Entertained” is the motto behind Parlay Social. This is not your average night out, and turns any ordinary date night into a night packed with dancing and entertainment. Their Prohibition Era aesthetic makes Parlay Social an unforgettable night of entertainment and dancing. It’s always a party at Parlay Social with live music Wednesday through Saturday night. Henry Clay’s Public House:

With the doors open and music playing, you must stop in to Henry Clay’s Public House on Upper Street! Between their nightly live music and extensive list of bourbon, you’ll be dancing all night long!

Tin Roof:

The perfect place to spend your night listening to and hanging out with local musicians. Come for the food and drinks, but stay for the fun! The electrifying environment ensures a night you will not forget! Enjoy karaoke Wednesday and live performances Thursday though Saturday!

Al’s Bar:

Located on North Limestone, Al’s Bar is known for its live music, poetry and great food!  Al’s bar has it all, showcasing both local and national talent. Since opening up in 2007 Al’s bar has expanded into the space next door, as well as adding a Beer Garden to showcase their local brews, and over 40 Kentucky bourbons, priding themselves on being a Kentucky Proud dive bar. Whether you come just to listen or take your shot on open mic night, Al’s bar has something for everyone’s musical interests.

Quiet Please:

This two-story night club featuring live music, dancing and a speakeasy vibe is open Thursday – Saturday night, making it the perfect stop for any night out or date night. An experience unlike any other, what used to be an old bank, now renovated into a night club gives this night club a modern speakeasy vibe.  Switch up your typical relaxed night out and trade it in for bright lights, fun music and an assortment of drinks!

Creaux:

Get a taste of New Orleans Bourbon Street right here in the one and only Lexington Kentucky. Creaux bar brings a taste of Bourbon Street to Short Street with their live jazz band every Friday night and Saturday night. In need of a staycation? Come on down and enjoy their New Orleans inspired drinks, food and live music.

Stagger Inn:

Get a hometown Kentucky experience when you visit Stagger Inn, located on West Main Street. Minglewood:

The perfect option to socialize downtown while being eco-friendly. Located on North Limestone, Minglewood provides only canned beer, always recycles and is determined to reduce the single use of plastics. Come and enjoy live music from local and surrounding artists on the weekends!

Ranada’s:

The perfect place for a cozy, intimate night out with friends for food and drinks. The live music experience will simply pull the whole night together. Come out every Wednesday and Sunday night or Sunday afternoon for brunch to see local bands while getting excellent food and service!

Cosmic Charlie’s:

With a freshly renovated space, including new wall murals and a larger space, Cosmic Charlie’s has the perfect atmosphere to rock out to indie bands and jams any day of the week. This funky music club originated in 2008, and has caught the eye of major Kentucky-based media production companies ever since. Needless to say, this place is a staple to Lexington’s music scene.

Lyric Theatre:

Come enjoy the Woodsongs old-time radio hour every Monday night at 7:00 p.m. from artists around the world! The music ranges from folk, blues, classical, bluegrass and Celtic. This performance is aired on hundreds of public radio stations, public television nationwide and in 173 countries!
