2011 Fourth of July Festivities

 

**Please note that the Patriotic Concert held on Sunday, July 3 at Transylvania/Gratz Park is a rain or shine event. We will monitoring the weather throughout the day and in the event of inclement weather, the show will go on after the rain passes.**

This year the Fourth of July Festival will be held in Downtown Lexington on Monday, July 4th! Leading up to this fun day of festivities will be several other events, including Central Bank Thursday Night Live, The Great American Pie Contest and Ice Cream Social, and the Concert at Gratz Park.

Schedule of Events:

Thursday, June 30:

  • Central Bank Thursday Night Live featuring Rebel Without A Cause at Fifth Third Bank Pavilion at Cheapside Park  4:30-7:30pm

Friday, July 1:

  • Great American Pie Contest and Ice Cream Social at Fifth Third Bank Pavilion at Cheapside Park 12:00-1:00pm
  • Free Friday Flicks at Jacobson Park 7:00pm

Saturday, July 2:

  • DLC Artist's Market at Lexington History Museum Front Lawn 8:00am-2:00pm
  • Lexington Farmers Market at Fifth Third Bank Pavilion at Cheapside Park 8:00pm-3:00pm
  • Red, White & BOOM Concert at Whitaker Bank Ballpark 12:00-10:00pm

Sunday, July 3:

  • Patriotic Music Concert Featuring the Lexington Philharmonic & Lexington Singers at Transylvania University and Gratz Park 8:00pm.

  • Bluegrass 10,000 Foot Race 7:30am
  • Downtown Street Festival 9:00am-6:00pm
  • Entertainment Sites: Cheapside Park, History Museum on Short, Centrepointe Lot, Phoenix Park, Upper Courthouse Plaza
  • Kids Zone in Billboard Parking Lot, corner of Short and N. Limestone, Children's Free Craft Activities, 10:00am-2:00pm
  • Reading of the Declaration of Independence at Main Street and Fifth Third Bank 11:15am
  • Parade from Midland Avenue down Main Street to Broadway 2:00pm
  • July 4th Live! featuring Kenny Owens and Fun With Jello in Fifth Third Bank Pavilion at Cheapside Park, 7:00-9:30pm
  • Downtown Fireworks 9:30pm
