Downtown Trash Bash

2008 Kentucky American Water Downtown Trash Bash

Tuesday, April 22, 2008
12 Noon - 4pm

Help keep Downtown Lexington clean and green!  Join us for the 2008 Trash Bash and show your support for Downtown and the environment - a great way to celebrate 2008 Earth Day!

Meet the staff of the Downtown Lexington Corporation at Cheapside Park between Noon and 4pm on Tuesday, April 22.  We'll be set up with lunch food and free t-shirts for the first 200 volunteers to register.  Enjoy your lunch and then getSweepstakes armed with free bags and gloves, then head out to clean the streets!  Each team will be assigned to specific stretches of surrounding streets to collect all the loose trash.  Feet hurt from walking so much?  Shuttle vans will be provided to transport volunteers to further locations (courtesy of the LFUCG Police Activites League).

As you pick up the pickins, set aside unique items.  When teams return with their loot, the findings of each team will be inspected and the team who finds the most unique piece of trash will win a grand prize!  Didn't find anything special?  No worries, we appreciate everybody's help.  Thank-you gifts will be given to everybody who participates!

This event is great for individuals, families, groups, clubs & associations, other non-profit organizations, and businesses.  If you would like to register for this event, call our front desk at 859-425-2590.
