Be sure to dress for a luau - Hawaiian shirts and grass skirts!  The DLC ticket table will be giving out free leis to the first 500 people!

But ye be warned, the Conch Republic is not for the timid and faint-of-heart. The Conch Republic is for the young and young-at-heart, wanting to let their inner-Parrothead/Pirate/Landshark, etc... come out to play.  So keep a weather eye open mates, and hold on tight. Thar be squalls ahead and guilty pleasures for all!

KENNY OWENS  (Contemporary)

Kenny has been playing music in the Central Kentucky area a long time… a long time. From playing in bands such as; ArtGeko, Long Duk Dong and Fun With Jello (just to mention a few) he has come into his own as an entertainer as a solo artist. Playing a wide… really wide range of music… from classic rock, to current rock. Kenny covers such artists as; John Mayer, Dave Matthews, O.A.R., Corey Smith, Old Crow Medicine Show, Barenaked Ladies, Alabama, Neil Diamond and many others. Truth is, there is not much he wont try. Songs traditionally played with a full band, he covers them in his own style, with just an acoustic guitar, but don’t let that fool you. Yes it’s acoustic music, but acoustic music with an edge!

For the Thursday Night Live event Kenny will be joined by; Joel Parker on drums; and Jimi Owens on bass. So put on your dancing shoes and warm up your voice, be ready to sing and dance along with Kenny Owens & Friends!

BETTER OFF DEAD  (80's)
www.Betteroffdead80s.com

Like, omygod - It's Totally 80's night!   Fer sure, this gives Generation X a chance to strut their stuff!  If you dare, pull out your big hair, leggings, swatches, bangle bracelets, fingerless gloves and cut-off sweatshirts.  If you're not old enough to remember the birth of the Cabbage Patch Doll, here's a couple of reference links to get you started:  www.tripletsandus.com/80s/fashion.htm  and www.liketotally80s.com/80s-fashion.html

Hailing from Lexington, KY, Better Off Dead formed from the artifacts of two prior successful Lexington cover bands, Durango 95 and Caught Red Handed.  With the return of 80’s music on both Radio and TV alike (thank you VH-1 “I Love The 80’s), the decision of what direction to go was an easy one to make. It was a great time to get back to the Rock and Roll sounds that we danced and stumbled to when we were kids. With energy and tight leather pants that were as much a part of the 80’s rock scene as BIG hair was, B.O.D. performs hits from such 80’s rock icons as, Poison, Rick Springfield, The Clash, Bryan Adams and many others.  For a blast of a time and a blast to the past, the rock doesn’t get much better than Better Off Dead.
