Breaking Tradition, Forging Ahead: WPA Prints from the Collection - UK Art Museum, May 10 thru Sep 15, Free. Museum Hours: Tuesday – Sunday: 12 to 5 pm and Friday: 12 to 8 pm.The exhibition is a student-organized project under the direction of the museum staff and the instructor of the Museum Studies class. The exhibit asks its audience: "What if you were free to express yourself? In the 1930s, the federal government's Works Progress Administration (WPA) helped put America back to work during the Great Depression. Included in this effort were American artists who were provided a living wage in exchange for works of art. MADcamp - ArtsPlace, Each Week of July, 2008. The Lexington Ballet, Lexington Philharmonic and Music Institute of Lexington have collaborated to create a new summer program for students age 4 thru 12: MADcamp. MADcamp will be a rotation of Music, Arts & Dance for a 1 week program instructed by master teachers of each discipline. Each week will have different program with a focus on education for the morning rotations and performing for the afternoon rotations. Adult Fall Softball Sign-Ups - Athletics Office, July 7 - 25. Sign-up now for our Adult Fall Softball Leagues. Priority registration for returning fall teams is July 7-11 while returning spring teams may register from july14-18. All new teams or those returning teams who did not priority register may do so from July 21-25. Registration is by teams only and rosters may not include players under 16 years of age. Managers of returning teams should receive registration forms on the mail. New teams need to come to the Athletics Office to register. Leagues offered include Men’s Church, Men’s Independent, Men’s Major, Women’s Independent and Co-Ed.
