Gallery hours: Tue - Sat 10am - 5pm, Sun 10am to 4pm.  A series of vibrant and mysterious paintings and drawings and large elegant charcoal drawings. Spears' work is rooted in real-life situations, which she interprets in a fragmentary, dream-like way. In addition to trees, boats, and animals, some of her current imagery is based on children's drawings; specifically, the artwork her son created when he was a young child. 859-425-1188 or www.anntowergallery.com

  • Lincoln and His Wife's Hometown - The Lexington History Museum in the Old Courthouse, Feb 12, 2008 thru Feb 2010, Sat 10am - 4pm, Fri/Sun/Mon 12pm - 4pm, Free.  Features a period of 10 years during which Lincoln visited Lexington and was exposed to the “peculiar institution” of slavery — formulating his political views on the subject.  859-254-0530 or www.lexingtonhistorymuseum.org

  • Photographs by Deborah Luster - UK Art Museum, Feb 20 thru Apr 12. Gallery Hours: Tues - Sun: 12pm - 5 pm, Fri 12pm - 8pm, Free.  Violent crime, and society’s response to it, is a subject that fascinates Luster, whose mother was a murder victim.
