• The Empty Bowls Project - Transylvania University Morlan Gallery, Dec 3 - 5. • Karen Spears: New Paintings and Drawings - Ann Tower Gallery, Nov 21 thru Feb 8, 2009. Spears' work is rooted in real-life situations, which she interprets in a fragmentary, dream-like way. • People Around the World - Central Bank Gallery, Nov 28 thru Jan 16, 2009. • Photographs by An-My Lê - UK Art Museum, Dec 12 thru Feb 15, 2009. Gallery Hours: Tues - Sun: 12pm - 5 pm, Fri 12pm - 8pm, Free.  An-My Lê was born in Vietnam in 1960 and came to this country as a political refugee in 1975.  Her photographs not only reveal her deeply rooted personal history but also raise larger questions about our perceptions of and relationship to war.  Her large-scale photographs reflect a sanitized version of military conflict, literally a theater of war.  859-257-5716 or www.uky.edu/ArtMuseum

• Photographs by Jeffrey Wolin - UK Art Museum, Oct 31 – Dec 7, Free. Athletics

• Adult Co-Ed Winter Indoor Volleyball League Sign-Ups - Dunbar Community Center Athletics,  (December 1 - 5 (returning teams) 8am - 5 pm, and December 8 - 12 (new teams).  Offered by LFUCG Parks & Recreation.  The league begins in January and ends in March. Teams will play a nine-game schedule followed by a post-season tournament. Matches are played on Sunday afternoons at the Castlewood Community Center. • Art & Science Classes - Living Arts & Science Center.  Each year, the Living Arts & Science Center presents more than 400 creative art and science classes and workshops for children 18-months old up to adults.
