Activities beginning at 8am:

Kids Rodeo
The Kids Rodeo is a youth instructional course open to all kids up to age 12! This year the Kids Rodeo course will be a closed circuit where kids will be doing a series of short laps. The Kids Rodeo is FREE, all kids must complete a waiver/registration form, and wear a helmet. All age groups up to 12 can join the fun! Instructional courses will take place beginning at 8:00am until about 9:55am on Short and Limestone. Kids Rodeo registrants will be entered into a raffle to win a free children’s bike from Pedal Power!

 

Bike Lexington Slow Cycle

The second annual Slow Cycle will be an event that you won’t want to miss!

The Slow Cycle is a FREE competition for ages 18+. The object of the Cycle is simply to be the last person to cross the finish line. Registration will start at 8:00am at the Bike Lexington registration booths. The Slow Cycle will take place at 9:00am on East Short Street and Limestone next to the registration tents. The rules are as follows:

Must be 18+ to compete.

You must wear a helmet.

Rider must remain on bike for the duration of the race.

No part of the rider may touch the ground.

The bicycle must maintain a straight forward motion at all times with both wheels touching the ground at all times (no hoping).

No touching other competitors.

The bicycle must stay in the boundaries at all times.

All bicycles can have only two wheels.

Only one winner will advance from each heat!

Please note: children on tricycles and training wheels and guardians must take Upper Street from 4th Street to return to the Bike Lexington Kid Zone. The Family Fun Ride route is designed for all riding levels and will contain police escorts on closed roads; however, if you have small children on tricycles or training wheels, we kindly ask that you take the clearly marked shortcut from W. Fourth Street onto N. Upper Street back to the Robert F. Stephens Courthouse Plaza. N. Limestone in front of the plaza will remain closed to traffic until after the ride returns for children and those who may not be able to ride the entire route. Please be advised that the Family Fun Ride is not a race and features a rolling closure at a child-friendly pace of 10 MPH or under. If you become spread out from the rest of the group, the road may not remain closed to vehicular traffic.
