2009 DLC Annual Meeting and Awards of Excellence Presented by Kinzelman Kline Gossman

Thank you to everyone who attended the 2009 DLC Annual Meeting and Awards of Excellence ceremony. To view the tribute videos that were shown in honor of the six award winners, please click here

The 2009 DLC Annual Meeting and Awards of Excellence is scheduled for Tuesday, December 8, 2009 at 11:30am, in the Hilton Downtown Lexington.

This event is open to the public.  Seating is limited and reservations are required.  Reservations are $35 per person and $350 per table of ten for DLC Members, $40 per person and $400 per table of ten for non-members.  To purchase tickets, please contact the DLC office at 859-425-2590.

The guest speaker will be Clete Benken, Principal from Kinzleman Kline Gossman. Clete will present information about the downtown Lexington Streetscape Plan.

 

The 2009 Awards of Excellence Winners:

This year's Awards of Excellence winners have been announced and will receive their award at the 2009 DLC Annual Meeting Luncheon.

Urban Innovation Award
Presented to Barry McNeese and the Lexington Distillery District - For reenergizing the historical distillery district by bringing in new businesses such as Busters, Dogtown and other one-of-a-kind shops to help bring back the life to Lexington's Distillery District.

Landscape and Streetscape Award
Presented to Art In Motion - For making Lexington a more vibrant and livable place through the fusion of pulic art, public transportation and public spaces.

Leadership Achievement Award
Presented to Procaccianti Group of Cranston, Rhode Island for their work on the Hyatt Regency Lexington, for their investment in the community and their leadership in improving the Hyatt Regency that is often the first impression to Lexington Conventioneers. 

Perfect Partner Award 
Present to Second Sunday, for encouraging residents from Lexington and the surrounding areas to embrace a healthy and safe lifestyle while providing a successful Downtown event for everyone to enjoy. 

Smiley Pete Award
Presented to Debbie Long of Dudley's Restaurant and Buddy's Bar & Grill for having a unique, intimate setting, which reflects the flavors of our region in the heart of Downtown Lexington.  Just a few blocks away you can find Buddy's, an amazing, funky and friendly restaurant which brings and upbeat environment to Downtown.

Outstanding Individual Award 
Presented to Luther Deaton of Central Bank & Trust Co., for his outstanding work in Downtown Lexington.
